Top 5 reasons the Sea Rocket loves dolphins
If you’re eager to see dolphins while you’re in Ocean City, MD look no further than Sea Rocket Adventures and their speed boat that goes up and down the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Captain Brad Donahue has been named the dolphin whisperer by Sea Rocket patrons and he promises that the majority of trips the Sea Rocket takes will have success in spotting dolphins! Now we may be a bit biased and more obsessed than most, but we came up with the top 5 reasons why we think dolphins are the most exceptional of all animals:
1. Dolphins love to have a good time!
Dolphins are extremely playful and friendly animals. They leap through the air, flip themselves completely over, surf in the waves behind the boat, and engage in underwater acrobatics just to show us they too are having a good time!
2. Dolphins know how to communicate.
Dolphins have a natural ability to communicate. You can see as they move through the water that they are communicating with each other and if you happen to be underwater listening to them, you can hear their “signature whistle” they share with each other.
3. Dolphins make good fishing buddies.
Where there are dolphins, there are usually fish. Dolphins have been known to eat up to 30lbs of fish/day so they are always swimming towards and surrounding themselves with schools of fish.
4. Dolphins are fast!
They love chasing our boat and trying to play catch-up! Even after slowing down and sometimes stopping to see them, they will do their best to follow us after we speed back up again. According to National Geographic, dolphins can reach speeds up to 20-25mph!
5. Dolphins are photogenic.
We love a good photo-op and dolphins don’t disappoint with their friendly faces. Not only are dolphins exceptionally beautiful creatures, they don’t shy away from the Sea Rocket boat or cameras when we roll on by!
While we don’t expect you to love dolphins as much as we do, we do hope that you have a newfound appreciation for them and a desire to see them while visiting Ocean City, MD. We look forward to having you join us on our next dolphin ride aboard the Sea Rocket!
